Diana Churchill

Diana Churchill (July 11 1909-1963) was the daughter of Sir Winston Churchill and Clementine Ogilvy Hozier. Winston and Clementine's first child, Diana was a naughty little girl and continued to cause her parents great distress as an adult.

On 12 December 1932 she married Sir John Milner Bailey , but the marriage was unsuccessful and they divorced in 1935. Later that year she married Conservative politician, Duncan Sandys, on 16 September. After having three children, that marriage also proved a failure and they were divorced in 1960.

She gained the rank of officer between 1939 and 1945 in the Woman's Royal Naval Service . On 11 April 1962 her name was legally changed back to Diana Churchill.

Diana had several nervous breakdowns and in 1963 she committed suicide at the age of 54.
