The Dell Axim line consists of Pocket PCs made by Dell. Dell entered the personal digital assistant (PDA) market in 2002. In two years, Dell managed to capture 37% of the Pocket PC market and 7% of the PDA market. The first Pocket PC that Dell introduced was the X5, sold for $199.99 after a mail-in rebate. This was an extremely low price, and may have lowered the cost of PDAs down in general. The next model Dell introduced was their X3 line. The high-end configuration, the X3i , was the first wireless Pocket PC under 400 dollars. The next line of Pocket PCs Dell introduced was the X30 line, essentially an improved X3. It was the first Pocket PC to use Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and the first PDA to use the Intel XScale Bulverde Processors. The high-end model uses a 624MHz processors. Dell's newest line of Pocket PCs, the X50 , includes a high-end model with a VGA screen. At $499.99, it is the cheapest Pocket PC with a VGA screen with wi-fi. Their highest-end model, the X50v, actually uses a 16 MB graphics card, which supports 3D games, two of which are included with purchase.
