David Lowman

David Lowman (d. 1999) was a former National Security Agency official and the author of the posthumously published book Magic: The Untold Story of U.S. Intelligence and the Evacuation of Japanese Residents from the West Coast during WWII.. Lowman bitterly disagreed with the Civil Liberties Act of 1988, in which the U.S. government apologized for the unjust WWII internment of Japanese Americans and provided financial reparations to the surviving Japanese American internees.

His book has been cited by numerous apologists for the internment as proof that disloyalty was widespread among Japanese Americans during WWII. However, the historical consensus among reputable historians weighs against this conclusion.
