Dan Lipinski

(Redirected from Daniel Lipinski)

Dan Lipinski (b. July 15, 1966), is a member of the United States House of Representatives representing the 3rd Congressional District of Illinois (mainly the inner suburbs of Chicago, map), having been elected in 2004 to succeed his father, Bill Lipinski. Prior to his election to Congress, he served as a Professor at the University of Tennessee from 2001 to 2004. From 2000 to 2001, he served as a Professor at the University of Notre Dame. He has served as an aide to four members of Congress, George Sangmeister from 1993 to 1994, Jerry Costello from 1995 to 1996, and Rod Blagojevich from 1999 to 2000. In addition, he served as an aide to then-House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt. Linpinski was elected on roughly the same platform as his father, promising to be a fairly conservative Democrat while fighting for government support for the district.
