Dan DeCarlo (December 12, 1917 - December 19, 2001) was arguably one of the most widely-viewed comic book artists of the 20th century, and one of the most prolific in terms of output.

While DeCarlo had a long and varied career, he is best known for his work at Archie comics, where in the 1950s he developed what would become the characters' official "look" and the publisher's house style. In the decades since then, most appearances of the popular Archie cast were either drawn by DeCarlo, or drawn by others in direct imitation of his style. He is the generally recognized as the creator of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats (the lead character named for his wife), and Cheryl Blossom.

In his later years he was involved in a bitter legal dispute with Archie Comics over ownership of the Josie and the Pussycats characters, which were to be featured in a well-publicized motion picture then in development. In the midst of the dispute, the publisher terminated its 40-year relationship with him.
