Cradle Will Rock is a 1999 movie written and directed by Tim Robbins. It stars Bill Murray, Hank Azaria, John Cusack, Rubén Blades, Susan Sarandon (as Margherita Sarfatti), Joan Cusack, Angus McFadyen , Cary Elwes, Vanessa Redgrave, Emily Watson, John Turturro, and Cherry Jones .

Set in 1937, Cradle Will Rock is a somewhat fictionalized account of the genesis and first performances of Marc Blitzstein's musical called The Cradle Will Rock.
