Continuity announcer

A Continuity Announcer is the Voice in the Junction. He is the man who tells you which channel you are watching now, what you are about to see, and what you could be watching if you changed to a different channel, thus: "You're watching BBC-1. In a moment the News, while just starting on BBC-2 is the first in a new series of 'Owl Watching for Beginners'". He also plays any music during the junction. If there is a breakdown he makes any necessary announcements and plays music for its duration.

Many announcers are female, and although the BBC in general does not have in-vision announcers, many other UK channels and the services of other countries use them exclusively.
