Continental Association of 1774

One of the first acts of the First Continental Congress is to create the Continental Association of 1774, more commenly talked about as "The Association". The association established total boycott over goods in the colonies. This was to be inforced by community groups and small committies. This was called the ulitmate form of non-importation agreement. This ban was to be started on December 1st. The Association was in general, fairly sucessful while it lasted. Trade with England fell sharply, and the British responded with the New England Restraining act of 1775. The American Revolution stopped the American's attempt to boycott british goods.
