Colonel-in-Chief

(Redirected from Colonel-in-chief)

In the British and other Commonwealth armies, the Colonel-in-Chief of a regiment is its (usually Royal) patron. This position is distinct from that of Colonel of the Regiment.

In Britain, the only non-Royal Colonel-in-Chief is the Duke of Wellington, Colonel-in-Chief of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment.
