Closing (morphology)

The Closing (morphology) is the Erosion (morphology) of the Dilation (morphology) of the set A.

C(A,B) = (A + B) - B

where + is the Minkowski addition.

A \subset C(A,B)

Closing (morphology) is, together with Opening (morphology), the basic workhorse of morphological noise removal. Opening removes small objects, whole Closing removes small holes.
