CityPulse is the name of two Canadian local news shows broadcast on the Citytv stations, CKVU in Vancouver and CITY in Toronto. The program is shown on the Citytv stations in weekday morning, noon, 6pm and 11pm editions, as well as weekend broadcasts. It is also the name of the news department of the stations. CityPulse is credited as the first news show to abandon the traditional anchor desk in favour of anchors standing up and walking around inside the actual news room.

The show originated in 1978 in Toronto, and its format, pioneered by Moses Znaimer, has been copied by local news shows around North America. The show has also been duplicated by other television stations owned by CHUM Limited as well, and its format has been licensed to several television stations around the world such as Citytv Barcelona and Citytv Bogotá.

Notable contributors to the Toronto show include Stephen Lewis who provided a commentary for the program until his appointment as Canadian ambassador to the United Nations, John Roberts (credited as J.D. Roberts), an entertainment reporter and weekend anchor now with CBS News, Mary Garofalo and Thalia Assuras who later moved to American local news, Bill Cameron, who later moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Denise Donlon , later CEO of Sony Canada, and Avi Lewis who later moved to CBC.

The 6pm weekday edition of the Toronto version of the show has been hosted since its inception by Gord Martineau except for several weeks in 1980 when he moved to Global Television. Martineau's current co-anchor is Anne Mroczkowski .

CP24

In 1998, Citytv created CablePulse 24 (commonly CP24), a Toronto cable TV station that is Canada's only 24-hour local news channel. It shares the same staff as the Citytv newscasts.
