Christian Exodus

Christian Exodus is a group promoting a mass emigration of Christian fundamentalists to South Carolina in hopes of influencing the governmental process and restoring the United States to Christian principles, as well as protecting the United States Constitution. The group's announced intentions are to move people to selected cities and counties in stages. They hope to eventually move more than 50,000 people.

Christian Exodus has not ruled out seceding from the United States. South Carolina was picked because they believe that it has a high chance of seceding again due to the fact that it was listed in the Treaty of Paris as as sovereign nation.

The Southern Poverty Law Center listed this group as a hate group, something which Christian Exodus firmly denounces, maintaining that it is colorblind.

Coincidentally, this group has sprung up at about the same time as the very similar Free State Project, which is a libertarian group that aims to move many libertarians to the state of New Hampshire, where they plan to slowly influence the government from there.
