Chilton is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated a few miles to the east of Bishop Auckland, and a short distance to the south of Ferryhill, on the A167. There is currently a bypass being constructed so the A167 will bypass Chilton due to congestion problems in the village, the bypass will be completed in June 2005.
