Cheshire moon

(Redirected from Cheshire Moon)

A Cheshire Moon, Dry Moon, or Wet Moon is a crescent moon, when the horns of the crescent point up, away from the horizon. This usually happens once every 7 to 14 months. Its opposite is the Rising Crescent Moon. It is called a Cheshire moon as a reference to the Cheshire cat of Lewis Carrolls writings.
