Charles L. Terry, Jr.

Charles L. Terry, Jr. (September 17, 1900February 6, 1970) was an American politician, attorney, and judge. Terry, Democrat, was the 70th governor of the state of Delaware and served from January 19, 1965 to January 21, 1969. He was only elected for one term.

Charles Layman Terry, Jr. was born in Camden, Delaware to Charles Layman Terry, Sr. and Elizabeth Maxon Terry. He attended public schools as a boy and went to Wesley College , the University of Virginia, and received his law degree from Washington and Lee University.

Terry died in Dover, Delaware, leaving his wife, Jessica Irby, and son, Charles Layman Terry III.
