Charles-Arthur Gauthier

Charles-Arthur Gauthier (May 12, 1913 - May 12, 1997) was a long time Canadian Member of Parliament for the Social Credit Party and Ralliement Créditiste. Gauthier, an undertaker, was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons representing Roberval, Quebec in the 1962 Canadian election. He and numerous other Quebec Socred MPs joined Réal Caouette in forming the Ralliement Créditiste in 1963, a Quebec breakaway from the federal Social Credit Party which rejoined the federal party in 1971.

From 1978 to 1979 Gauthier was acting leader of the Social Credit party. He was defeated in the 1980 Canadian election that wiped out the party.
