Cats Protection

Cats Protection, formerly the Cats Protection League, is a UK charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming stray or homeless cats.

The organisation was founded as the Cats Protection League on May 16, 1927 at a meeting at Claxton Hall in London. The name was shortened in 1999. The junior version, the Kitten Club, was launched in 1995. As of 2003, there were 30 shelters, run directly by Headquarters, and 260 branches, run by volunteers, throughout the UK.
