History

With influences of Ramones, Misfits, Buzzcocks, Pennywise and other old school punk and hardcore legends, CPM 22 recorded their first demo tape in 1998. The popularity in brazilian underground scene led CPM 22 to record the independent album "A Alguns Quilometros de Lugar Algum". Two years later they figured at Brazilian MTV video-music award in demo clip category with "Anteontem". In 2001 they signed with the Brazilian major Abril Music and released their first mainstream album called "CPM 22" with many hits, such as "Regina, Let's Go", "Tarde de Outubro", "O Mundo Da' Voltas", and others, playing in brazilian radios. In the end of 2002 they released "Chegou a Hora de Recomecar". More melodic than the first one, CPM 22 reached the top of the popularity in Brazil with songs like "Desconfio", "Ontem", "Nao Sei Viver Sem Ter Voce", "Dias Atras", "Peter" and "Garota da TV". Often they are seen in brazilian tv shows, something unbelieavable for a band which recently played in underground of Sao Paulo.
