Municipality of Brighton, Tasmania

Brighton is a town just north of Hobart, in Tasmania, Australia. It borders of the outer Hobart suburb of Bridgewater, and the Municipality of Brighton includes some Hobart suburbs, including Bridgewater, Gagebrook and Old Beach .

Brighton adjoins another town, Pontville . Both towns are on the Midlands Highway.

The area surrounding Brighton was swept with bushfires over the summer of January 2003; however the town itself was safe.
