Brian Kidd, (born 29 May 1949, Collyhurst , Manchester), is an English former professional footballer, since his retirement he has worked as both a coach and manager. Kidd played for Manchester United (1963-1974), Arsenal (1974-1976), Manchester City (1976-1979), Everton (1979-1980), and Bolton Wanderers. He also played for Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the USA.
After management posts at Barrow and Preston North Eng, he was brought back to Manchester United as a coach by Alex Ferguson in 1998. He helped the club to win the League Cup, the Premier League and F.A. Cup. He was lured to manage Blackburn Rovers in December 1998, but the club were relegated and Kidd was sacked on 3 November 1999 after the side performed poorly in Division One. He has subsequently worked as head coach at Leeds United and as England number two coach under Sven-Göran Eriksson.
Kidd was diagnosed with prostate cancer prior to Euro 2004, forcing him to take a break from his duties with England.
