Brentford F.C.

Brentford F.C. are an English association football club from the town of Brentford, West London and are currently playing in Football League One.

Overview

The red and white army or Bees, as they are known, were formed in 1889.

Since joining the Football League, the club has reached the top flight of English football, at the time it was the First Division.
However, since the Second World War, with a depleted team, Brentford spent the next 45 years in the bottom two divisions. This ended in the 1991/92 season, when they won promotion to the new Division One for its inaugral season after winning the Third Division. They were relegated the following season and within a few years were relegated again to the new Division Three.

Brentford won promotion again in the 1998/99 season, but currently find themselves again playing for survival from relegation back to Division Three. There is optimism amongst fans of a bright future, with a new manager, Martin "Mad Dog" Allen in charge of a squad of very young players.
