Box Car Racer is a side-band created by Tom Delonge and Travis Barker of Blink-182. Whilst Blink-182 took a break in 2002 Tom DeLonge felt that there were feelings that he could not express whilst in his current band, so he formed a band where he could express them. Taking Travis Barker from Blink and David Kennedy from Hazen Street they recorded their one and only album Box Car Racer.
Box Car Racer broke up in 2003, and their website (www.boxcarracer.com) was taken off the internet in late March, 2005, which crushed some fans' hopes of the band getting back together. The site has since been put back online.
