Blue Nile (An Nil al Azraq) is one of the 26 wilayat or states of Sudan. It is sometimes known as Central (Al Wustá). It has an area of 45,844 km² and an estimated population of approximately 600,000 (2000). Ad-Damazin is the capital of the state.
