Bloxham

Bloxham is an Oxfordshire village on the edge of the Cotswolds in the central part of England, U.K. It is three miles from the market town of Banbury, on the main route linking Banbury and the smaller market town of Chipping Norton.

On driving through the village from Banbury you pass on your left the Warriner school, and behind this is a working replica of a post mill, the site of which is allegedly listed in the Domesday Book. As you continue into the village you pass Bloxham School, and its imposing buildings lining the left hand side of the road. The school was founded by Rev. Edgerton, and is one of the Woodard Foundation Schools in the U.K. The headmaster's house is on top of Hob Hill, and overlooks the Pig Sty playing fields, so called after their use during World War II. After passing the small run of shops the tall spire of St Mary's village church comes into view.
