Bharathan (b. at Enkaakkaadu, near Vadakkanchery in Trichur, 1946; d. in Madras, 29 July 1998) was a Malayalam film director, painter, sculptor, and music director. He was also an accomplished violinist and a skilled mechanic.

Bharathan was a complete artist.

His direction was highly artistic and inspired. Admirers of his inimitable style refer to his directorial seal as the `Bharathan touch'.

The stimulus which caused him to turn to art came from his uncle, the veteran Malayalam film director and artist P. N. Menon.
