Berlin Marathon

The Berlin Marathon is an annual marathon in Berlin, the capital of Germany. It take place usually end of September. The "32. Berlin-Marathon" will start on September 25, 2005 (September 24, 2005 for inline-skater, power-walker, handbiker, wheelchair, children marathon (4,2195 km)). The first Berlin Marathon was in 1974.

Several world records were set at the Berlin Marathon:

  • world record marathon women in 1999 (Tegla Loroupe, 2:20:43) and 2001 (Naoko Takahashi , 2:19:46),
  • world record marathon men in 1998 (Ronaldo da Costa, 2:06:05) and and the actual world record in 2003 (Paul Tergat, 2:04:55).
