Arthur E. Reimer

Arthur Elmer Reimer was a United States Socialist, member of the Socialist Labor Party of America, a radical offshoot of the Socialist Party of America. The SLP was founded by Marxist historian Daniel De Leon in 1877.

Very little is known about Reimer, except that he was from Massachusetts. He was the Socialist-Labor Party Presidential candidate for the 1912 election. His Running mate was August Gilhaus of New York. Election was won by Democratic candidate Thomas Woodrow Wilson.

Reimer was also surpassed by other four unsuccesful candidates:

He was again a Presidential candidate for the the 1916 election. His running mate was Caleb Harrison of Illinois. Election was again achieved by Thomas Woodrow Wilson.

Reimer seems to have retired from politics following his second unsuccesful campaign. His date of death and burial site are unknown.
