April Wine is a Canadian rock band formed in Montreal, Quebec by Myles Goodwyn (lead singer), Brian Greenway (Guitar), Gary Moffet (Guitar), Steve Lang (Bass), and Jerry Mercer (Drums) in 1969
They are well known for their deep bass sounds, and their hit songs such as "I like to Rock", "Sign of the Gypsy Queen", and "Bad Side of the Moon" (A rewrite of the original by Elton John). A great deal of their songs earn airplay, especially on Canadian radio stations.
April Wine also is the english traslation of Avril la Vin, off which another Canadian singers name, Avril Lavigne is based.
