Antipolo City

Antipolo City is a city in the Philippines and was recently made the capital of the province of Rizal. Pasig City in Metro Manila was the previous capital. Most of Antipolo stands on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Madre mountain range and this vantage point gives the city a spectacular view of Metro Manila. Antipolo has numerous spring resorts popular with weekend travellers from the metropolis. Today, Antipolo City is a visited city because of the Nuestra Senora Dela Paz y Buenviaje, a black-imaged Virgin came from Acapulco, Mexico used for the Galleon Trade. The name Antipolo got its name from the Tipolo Tree.
