Anne Lilia Berge Strand

Anne Lilia Berge Strand (born November 21, 1977), better known by her stage name Annie, is a pop artist and dj from Bergen, Norway. Her debut album Anniemal was released in 2004.

Annie's earliest recordings were done in collaboration with her then boyfriend, Norweigan house producer Tore A. Kroknes (Erot) in the late 1990s. They co-wrote and released the single The Greatest Hit under her name in 1999 on the Bergen based Tellé label. Tragically, Tore died of heart complications in 2001, which probably has left a melancholic tone in her later work. Her breakthrough hit single Chewing Gum was produced by Richard X and was released in 2004. Her debut album Anniemal came shortly after. Besides from the productions by Erot and Richard X, the album also contained collaborations with Röyksopp's Torbjørn Brundtland and Op:l Bastards' Timo Kaukolampi. Her song Heartbeat, taken from the album, was voted number #1 on the music site Pitchforks Top 50 Singles of 2004, without having had a proper single release.
