The Anchor Bar is a restaurant located at Main and North in downtown Buffalo, NY, USA where the Buffalo-style Chicken Wing (buffalo wing) was first served in 1964. The restaurant was initially established in 1935 Teressa Bellissimo is credited with the creation of the Buffalo Wing when she deep-fried the wings and covered them in a special sauce (wings were previously used for soup or simply thrown away before this use came about). They were initially offered for free. Frozen wings can now be ordered around the world from the Anchor Bar's web site.
