Amen Corner (band)

Amen Corner was a successful British pop band, formed in 1966 in Cardiff, Wales. Its members were Andy Fairweather-Low (vocals), Neil Jones (guitar), Allan Jones (tenor saxophone), Blue Weaver (key board), Mike Smith (saxophone), Clive Taylor (bass) and Dennis Byron (drums). The group was enormously successful in the UK. "If Paradise Is Half as Nice" went to number one in early 1969. The band split up that year but Andy Fairweather Low went on to a solo career in the 70s. Their hits included

  • Gin House,
  • Bend Me Shape Me,
  • High in The Sky,
  • (If Paradise Is) Half As Nice
  • Hello Susie.
