Amazon Carnival is an annual carnival feast celebrated in july in the city of Parintins , Brazil and protagonized with two major blocks: Garantido and Caprichoso. It's based on local folk elements and indigenan culture.

This celebration was unknown for the majority of the brazilians up to 1996 when a musical group Carrapicho introduced the hit Bate forte o tambor. This song is used until today in the traditional Brazilian Carnival to celebrate the culture of the North of the country.
