Overlooking the Alfama from Miradouro da Santa Lucia

Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon close to the Tejo, known for its Fado bars and restaurants. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma.

The Alfama is overlooked by the castle São Jorge and was left intact by the Lisbon earthquake of 1755.
