Aken

Aken is a town in the district Köthen, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. As of 2002 it has a population of 9,438. The town is located at the river Elbe, about 15km east from where the Saale joins the Elbe.

Since June 17 1991 Aken is twinned with the town Erwitte in North Rhine-Westphalia. On April 24 1993 the twinning with the French city Anor was signed.
