Aileen Carroll


The Honourable Aileen Carroll (born June 1, 1944, Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian politician and (as of December 12, 2003) current Minister for International Cooperation. As a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons she represents the district of Barrie, Ontario. First elected to the House of Commons in 1997, Carroll was re-elected in the 2000 and 2004 general elections. Before her election, Carroll served an Alderman (1995-1997) in Barrie. Carroll has a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's University (1965) and a Bachelor of Education from York University (1989). Carroll and her husband D. Kevin Carroll, Q.C., have two grown children, Daniel and Joanna.
