Afterburner is the ninth studio album by American blues-rock band ZZ Top, released in 1985 (see 1985 in music). While Afterburner was a financial success, going several times platinum and launching several hit singles, fans of ZZ Top were highly disappointed in the synthesizers and drum machines which, they felt, robbed the band of its groove and heartfelt Texas blues beats.
