There existed at least two Ace Records.
The first Ace Records was started in August 1955 by Johnny Vincent , with Teem Records as budget subsidiary label. Its records were distributed since 1962 by Vee-Jay Records. Ace Records stopped when Vee-Jay went broke. The label was relaunched in 1971 and sold in 1997 to Music Collection International .
The second Ace Records was a subsidiary of Chiswick Records. When Chiswick stopped in 1984, Ace continued repressing the better records of Chiswick. Over the years Ace acquired the rights of Fantasy Records, Stax Records, Specialty Records and Vanguard Records.
